Save A Lot Manager Review
Treatment of Customer
Injury in Save-A-Lot food Store Gainesville Florida
While attempting to purchase two (2) 24 pack of Crystal bottled Water at Save A lot food store , 2609 N.W. 13th. street In Gainesville Florida.
As I have been purchasing this product for quite awhile , I knew that they were normally packed three (3) packs high in rows of three (3) , but they had moved the location of the pallet , which was usually on the left side wall of the store when you entered , to the far opposite wall
Unfortunately , the front row was empty , so had to try to slide the two that were on top of the next row , only two (2) high , I was able to get the first one without any problems , however , when I tried getting the next one , it would not slide off of the package below it , so , had to step up on the pallet to lift it off , but of course while I had lifted it with both hands , I had to turn around to get it into my basket .
Unfortunately , there was a small metal frame with the price card in it ,my foot got caught in the frame and I fell head over heels , landing on my left side , my head hitting the floor with a loud “cracking” sound.
A very nice couple tried to come to my aid , but I was not able to move . and I did not want them to try to lift me for fear of falling again, they did manage to get the manager, who was able to help me get back up on my feet.
He was very nice and quite concerned about my tripping on the sign ,
and had asked if I need medical attention , but I did not think so at the time.
The next morning I was quite sore and black and blue on my left side, but I had also hit my hip area which had been replaced a couple of months prior ,and was concerned that I had perhaps done some damage to it in the fall so went to my doctor who ordered a series of Xray's , MRI's and a cat scan which thankfully showed no permanent damage.
Since I had Medicare and a supplemental Insurance , I was completely covered , but felt that Save-A-Lot should have to pay some sort of monetary compensation for the negligence on their part.
After the initial contact letter informing me that an adjuster from the insurance company would be calling me to discuss the "incident", I had not heard from anyone else for a couple of months and when I sent an email to inquire about what was going on , I received an automated response stating that the adjuster , Sedgwick Claims Management , would no longer be handling my case , but would be handled by Gallagher Bassett.
Again I did not hear anything back from anyone, I attempted to call and email the new company , with no response , wrote another email stating that I would be hiring an attorney ( I am not a very litigious person , but had no alternative to their "waiting game playing")
I finally received a call from Gallagher Bassett claims manager informing me that " once I stepped up on the pallet to retrieve an additional case of water , I had automatically accepted liability for the action , and the store was no LONGER LIABLE, and offered me a "customer appreciation" amount of two hundred dollars ($200)
I spent more than that on gas going for all my doctors and MRI etc appointments.
- Lousy store stocking when out of product
- Customer care and safety
Being taken advantage of by a new cashier.

FAKE! Go to the Save A Lot facebook page, they warn you they have nothing to do with this "promotion", it is scammers or pranksters who are doing it! You can also just google Save a Lot $275 giveaway and you will get many hits, telling you it's fake and has nothing to do with the company.
The email is a fake. There is no $275 grocery giveaway!
Save A Lot is NOT associated with this false email at all.
They have sent out press notices, trying to get the word out, so as to warn their customers, but it looks like you did not get the memo, so to speak. Future-going, just remember, any promotion you see on facebook or in your email is going to be 99% of the time, fake.
